Mrs.Marcia T. Rivera, age 68, of Biloxi, MS, passed from a long illness Monday, February 3, 2014.
Marcia (Ann) was a devoted mother and wife who was loved very much by most people that met her. She was giving of self and of her time to help those not as fortune as her. She gave 18 years to the Diocese of Biloxi and Morning Star Pregnancy Center helping young and old men and women either financially or just to hear their circumstances in life’s trials. She was known by some of the young females as “MOM” because she would listen to them and never with criticism only an understanding heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth and James Taylor, Sr. of Jasper FL, and her two nephews Michael from Jasper FL and Peter Taylor from New Smyrna FL, her aunt and husband Clara and Marty Waldron of Clewiston Fl. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Rivera Jr.; daughter, Elyse Bernos of Diamondhead; son, Gregory Rivera of Dayton, OH; brothers Donald Perdido Key, FL and Jimmy Taylor Japer, FL; Grand children, Taylor Bernos, Alexis Rivera, Aiden Rivera, and Aislyn Rivera.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln-Delisle Rd, Pass Christian, MS 39571.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pass Christian where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
