Margaret Dolores Jones-Richardson

Margaret Dolores Jones-Richardson, age 75, of Gulfport died Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Margaret was born in Senath, Missouri but raised in Memphis, Tennessee with her mother and brother. She attended Drones Business College before moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to begin her family and had an early retirement with South Central Bell as a telephone operator. Her family was her first priority as she was a loving mother/grandmother and wife who enjoyed fellowshipping with her friends at church and in her clubs. She had been a faithful member of Michael Memorial Baptist Church for decades, but had most recently been an active member of Bayou View Baptist Church where she was involved in the choir and the senior adult ministry. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and always looked forward to lunching and conversing with long-standing friends. She never met a stranger and was very hospitable, especially to children. Her grandchildren immensely loved her and would look forward to their frequent visits where she would present them with the delicious chocolate treats. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Cecil G. Jones, her parents Tupel and Vilma Dunivan. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Dr. Travis Richardson; brother, Kenneth Dunivan; children Tiffany Jones and Martin Jones (Diane); four grandchildren and 12 step grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2 PM for family and friends. Service will begin at 2 PM at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O'Neal Rd., Gulfport.
