Margaret "Peggy" Stribling Bradley of Saucier, 88, MS, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, June 20, 2014.
Peggy was born in Waco, TX. She grew up in San Angelo, TX, met and married Bill, and had Tracy and Blair while there. Her husband was Vice-President of Sunset Motor Lines, so the family traveled to a variety of locations including Tampa, FL, Nashville, TN, St Louis, MO, Houston, TX, back to San Angelo, TX, Dallas, TX, and Hattiesburg, MS, prior to ending up in Gulfport in 1965. She worked for twenty years with the Harrison County Library (main one in downtown Gulfport), and was an active member with St. Peter's By the Sea Episcopal Church. She was a survivor of both Hurricanes Camille and Katrina, losing her house on West Beach (and spending a harrowing night in an attic 1.5 blocks off of the beach) to the former, and just having to repair some roof damage on a different home from the latter. After their children grew up, Peggy and Bill started some extensive traveling, going to Europe and England three times, and traveling to multiple locations within the US. Peggy brought back souvenirs and decorative items from these trips, and had set them up in their house in multiple, beautiful arrangements. She was a consummate professional at decorating. She had good taste and their house represented it. She was a life-long animal lover, and took care of multiple dogs throughout her life. She was a voracious reader and her love of reading carried forward into her two sons and is reflected in the libraries that each has.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. "Bill" Bradley, Jr., of Gulfport, MS.
Survivors include her sons, William D. "Tracy" Bradley, III and wife, Cindy of Lakewood, CO and Pastor Clifton Blair Bradley and wife, Rhonda of Saucier, MS; grandchildren, Joseph, Beulah, Rhoda, Simeon, and Will; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church, 1909 15th St, Gulfport, MS, 39501.
Services will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
