Margo Loe

It is with much sadness that the family of Margo Loe announces her sudden passing on Friday, December 19, 2014. Margo, born Sandra Margo Dale in Beaumont, Texas, was a long-time resident of Ocean Springs. After graduating from French High School and Lamar State University in Beaumont, Texas, Margo graduated from nursing school at the University of Southern Alabama having chosen a career as an Registered Nurse. She worked in ERs, ORs and ICUs across the United States and the Caribbean. Coworkers appreciated her knowledgeable and professional demeanor, while her patients experienced her gentle, compassionate and proficient care. At the time of her death, Margo was preparing to return home for Christmas having just finished a stint at a radiation oncology clinic in Plano, Texas, where she worked as a nurse. While she enjoyed a lifetime career as a nurse, her interests were vast and varied and certainly not limited to the medical field. In addition to pursuing creative outlets such as gourmet cooking, jewelry-making, painting and photography, she had a passion for books and was an avid reader, loved the arts and movies. Along with her hobbies and interests, Margo also had an entrepreneurial spirit and for many years, she owned and operated her own businesses: first Heart’s Designer Lingerie & Fashions in Slidell, Louisiana followed by Morning Glory Coffee & Tea on the island of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. It was on this beautiful island that Margo spent 20 years, further cultivating her lifelong love of fine coffee by running her popular coffee house as well as raising her son, Andrew, with former husband Bobby Loe. Margo eventually returned to the Gulf Coast following her divorce, where she shared her life with her long-time fiance, Timothy Mumphrey. Tim will miss so much about Margo, including her warm, loving touch, her radiant smile and of course, her companionship. Margo possessed so many amazing traits and qualities that will be greatly missed by those who knew her, most notably her creativity, incredible sense of humor, generosity and loving nature. She had a knack for putting everyone at ease in her presence and was known for being an incredible gift giver, putting to great use her love of shopping. Also left behind by Margo is her mother, Dora Dale and her sister Debra Dale, both of Ocean Springs. She will be missed tremendously by her surviving children and their families: Larry Appel of San Antonio, Texas, along with his wife, Lucy, and baby Sean; and Kriss Burgard of Big Spring, Texas, with her husband, Frank and their daughter Summer, 4. Areyanna Loe, 5, is also a surviving grandchild, born to Margo’s son Andrew. Margo especially cherished her latest role as “Mimi” to her grandchildren. After tragically losing Andrew last year in an auto accident, it is our sincere prayer that mother and son have been joyfully reunited in Heaven, along with other family members who preceded them in death: Margo’s father, Edmond Dale and her loving Nana and Papa, Golda and John Dale. Services for Margo will begin with a viewing at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 followed by a service at 11a.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home.
