Marie "Molly" Stiglets Edwards

Marie “Molly” Stiglets Edwards, 85, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015. Molly was born July 12, 1929 in Pascagoula, MS. She later moved to Ocean Springs, MS after marrying her late husband, Edgar Wallace Edwards where they raised their three daughters. Molly was an active member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She worked for 10 years at Merchants and Marine Bank in Pascagoula, MS and later retired from Hancock Bank where she worked for 17 years. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and New Orleans Saints fan. She always had a kind word or loving smile for all. Whether you called her Mama, Mawmaw, Aunt, or friend she was loved dearly by all and will be missed every day. She is preceded in death by her infant son, James Charles Edwards; her parents, Bessie and Charles Stiglets; her brothers, Joseph (Nita), Lionel and Charles Stiglets Jr.; her sister, Vera Stiglets (Rufus) Whitfield; her brothers-in-law, Captain James (Sarah) Edwards, Jr., Bruce (Margie) Edwards and Donald Edwards; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Stiglets. Molly is survived by her daughters, Ethel Edwards (Scott) Conner, Ann Edwards (Marty) Bishop both of Ocean Springs, MS and Cheryl Edwards (Timmy) Havard of Auburn, AL; her grandchildren, whom she says were her life, Emily Anne and Paige Conner, Katelyn, Karley and Beau Bishop, Evan, Sydney and Elizabeth Havard, Jake (Brittlyn) Carzoli; her great grandson, Brooks Carzoli; her brothers, Louis (Irma) Stiglets of Ocean Springs, MS and Tommy Stiglets of Vancleave, MS; her sister-in-law, Joyce Edwards of Ocean Springs, MS; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Penn Plaza, Suite 1710, New York, NY 10122. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, January 26, at 11 am. Friends may visit from 10 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
