Marion Battaya Blackmon

Marion Jeanette Battaya Blackmon, age 80, of Saucier, died Friday, September 21, 2012. Marion was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She retired from D’Iberville Middle School after 25 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Moose # 332. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Alfred Jr. and Glenn and two sisters, Jessie and Arlene. Her survivors include four daughters, Karen King, Donna Battaya, Marie Lynell Peebles and Lisa Fountain, son, Douglas J. Battaya, sister, Judy Norcross, brother, Charles Wilson, grandchildren, Brenda, Stacey D., Alicia and Stacey J., great-grandchildren, Matthew, Chelsa, Breanne, and Andrew, precious newborn, Abigail, her beloved dog, Sassie and numerous other family members. A private service will be held. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
