Martin Allen Spence, 98, of Gautier, MS passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the home of his son in Vancleave, MS. He was born June 27, 1914 in Dexter, MI.
Mr. Spence was a WWII Veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a retired Civil Service employee from McClellan A.F.B. in CA. Mr. Spence also worked for many years at Ingalls Shipbuilding. His greatest joy in life was his family and the many years he spent in his wood working shop crafting for them. He faithfully attended Crossroads Church of the Nazarene.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Edith Spence; his brothers, Edward and William Spence; his wife, Theresa Spence; his daughter, Marcia Butts; and his great-grandson, Lucas Mizelle.
He is survived by his son, David (Joyce) Spence; his son-in-law, Steve Butts; his sister-in-law, Pat Gambrell; his grandchildren, Traci (John) Brenier, Alia (Matt) Mizelle and Christa (Josh) Fisher; his great-grandchildren, Spence (Melanie) Brenier, Resa (Chad) Borries, Dillon Mizelle and Selah Davis; his great-great-grandchildren, Kyser Brenier and Kennedy Rose Brenier; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank his caregivers from Camellia Hospice for their compassion and loving care.

Funeral services will be from the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Gardens, Pascagoula, MS.
