Mary H. Cherry, 67, was called home to be with her heavenly Father on June 15, 2012. She was born on January 28, 1945 in DeKalb, MS. Her family moved to D’Iberville, MS when she was a young child. She attended St. Martin and D’Iberville schools. Mary always loved being outside in nature. She was an animal lover, bird addict, and had a green thumb when it came to her flowers and plants. Mrs. Cherry was a member of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church. She was very involved with the United Methodist Women and Ladies Fellowship Circle. Her family meant everything to her and she was always there for them.
Mrs. Cherry is preceded in death by her parents, Joe T. Hopper, Sr. and Mary Lucille Hopper; brothers, Joe T. Hopper, Jr. and Jimmy Hopper; sister, Hazel June Hopper.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Joseph S. Cherry; mother-in-law, Charlene Cherry; father-in-law, Ellis Cherry (Sarah); sisters-in-law, Carrie Hopper-Rau, Teresa George (Jeff), Sandra George (Ted); brother-in-law, Keith Cherry (Gwen). She is also survived by 7 nieces, 3 nephews, 8 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews, 2 great-great-nieces and 1 great-great-nephew.
Memorial services will be on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
