Mrs. Mary Nezell Batton Cluff, age 86, of D'Iberville, MS., was called to Heaven on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Cluff was a longtime resident of D'Iberville and attended D'Iberville High School. She enjoyed reading, watching "The Duke", John Wayne, church, and bird watching. Mrs. Cluff was a poll worker, an active member of Heritage United Methodist Church, a nursing home volunteer and enjoyed running errands for the Seniors at her church. One of her favorite job memories was working with Alamo Fried Chicken on Howard Avenue, many years ago. She was recognized as Mother of the Year raising six children and numerous grandchildren. She was a great friend and mother who was kind, loving and generous.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Charlie Cluff, her parents, Burras and Lula Batton and sisters, Frances Lane, Helen Daughdrell and Dorothy Harrell.
Survivors include her children, Charles Ray (Sharon) Cluff of Arvada, CO., Catherine Elois (Eugene) Joffrion of D'Iberville, MS., Jack William (Nanette) Cluff of Biloxi, MS., James Henry (Marsha) Cluff of Gulfport, Mary Christina (Billy) Wasmer of Ocean Springs, and Cecilia Ann Fountain of Latimer, sisters, Grace Husley and Wilma Pierce and brother, Burras (Sylvia) Batton, sixteen grandchildren, Charlie Bragg, Brad Perry, Theresa Leetham, Cassandra Amos, Kay Lynn Barr, Christopher Cluff, Kennith Harrell, Michael Cook, Joy Gardner, Jaclynn Cluff, John Cluff, Jack Cluff II, Joselynn Cluff, Jessica Wasmer, Sarah Wasmer, and Elizabeth Fountain, eleven great-grandchildren, two foster great-grandchildren, and her beloved chihuahua, Nellie.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, from 6 pm until 9 pm at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, there will be a 10 am chapel service in the funeral home, where friends may visit from 9 am until service time. Burial will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park in North Biloxi.
