Mary Nani Howieson, 63, of Biloxi, MS passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2012, after a valiant fight with cancer.
Mary was born in Hawaii on March 11, 1949, but lived most of her adult life along the Gulf Coast. She was a proud team member of Walmart in Gulfport for 12 years, before taking leave to fight cancer. Mary was known for her great heart, love of animals, especially Miss Scarlett and Simon and her skills at the barbecue. She made a mean pulled pork. Mary was a friend of Bill W. for 23 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emily Howieson; brother, James Howieson; and sister, Margaret Howieson.
She is survived by her siblings; John (Rosie) of Lafayette, IN, Daniel (Catherine) of Pikes Road, AL, Elizabeth (James) Majsterski of Houston, TX, Timothy (Yolanda) of Oakville, CT and Rita (Craig) Christensen of Carol Stream, IL; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary’s friends are too numerous to mention and span the country from coast to coast. Everyone loved her dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a 1:00 pm Memorial Service at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS, (228) 374-5650.
