Mary Cripps Mapes

Mrs. Mary C. Mapes, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was born in Hattiesburg, MS and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 35 years. She had a long career in civil service at Keesler Air Force Base. Mrs. Mapes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton Mapes; parents, Kenneth and Margaret Cripps; sister, Pauline Everett Waller; and brother, Kenneth "Sonny" Cripps, Jr. She is survived by her children, Greg Mapes of Biloxi and Belinda (Ricky) Lackaye of Waterloo, SC; grandchildren, Candice Lackaye of Waterloo, SC and April Scarbrough of Gulfport; great grandchildren, Jordan, Grayson and Andrew of Waterloo, SC; and two sisters, Betty (Keith) Browne of Mauriceville, TX, and Norma "Jeanie" Murdock of Biloxi. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
