Maryon Capers

Mrs. Maryon Roberts Capers, 87, died December 19, 2014 in Ocean Springs. She was born July 31, 1927 in Vancleave, MS and was a resident of Ocean Springs for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was a member of the response circle and retired from teaching pre-school for over 20 years. She was a member of the Ocean Springs Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Lady) for more than 25 years and served as president more than once. She enjoyed working outside and growing things. Anyone who knew her also knew that the love of her family was a big part of her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Archie (Cliff) Capers; her parents Q.C. Sr. and Mary Goff Roberts; and her 4 brothers, Lambert, Q.C. Jr., Nolle and Spencer Roberts. She is survived by 4 sons, Clifton (Jacque) of Ocean Springs, Dan (Brenda) of Orlando, FL, Tom (Madeleine) of Ocean Springs and Bob of Orlando, FL; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Settlers Point for all their loving care. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church – Downtown Ocean Springs. Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
