Maureen Lomax Day

Maureen Lomax Day, 53, of Mobile, AL, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Maureen was a longtime resident of Mobile. She was born and raised in Ocean Springs, MS, where her family still resides. Maureen was an avid gardener who loved springtime, planting, weeding and working in her Koi Pond. She was a devoted mother, daughter and sister and she will be missed by all who loved her. Maureen was a dedicated Hospice Nurse at Springhill Home Health and Hospice in Mobile, AL. Maureen was loved by all who knew her. Maureen is preceded in death by her father, William H. Lomax. Her survivors include her mother, Veronica M. Lomax; her son, Derek Michael Boyce; her siblings, Mike Lomax (Cathy), Shelagh Barnes (Don), Barbara Smith (Danny) and Jeremy Lomax (Wendy); and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until mass time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
