Maurene Collins, 86, of D’Iberville, was called home Sat., Dec. 14, 2013.
Maurene was born in Lyman, WY. As a young girl, her father built the phone company on Snake River Valley in Baggs, WY. She graduated from the university in Laramie, WY and was a grade school teacher for 15 years. She then went into nursing for a surgeon in Salt Lake City, UT for 27 years. She was president of the Utah Medical Association in 1971-72. Upon retirement she and Roy settled in Biloxi, MS.
Maurene was preceded in death by her parents, Don C. and Loree Austin; 2nd love of 48 years, Roy B. Collins.
Survivors include her 1st love, Norman R. Barnhisel of Rawlins, WY; children, Donald R. Barnhisel of Fairview, Oregon and Sherry F. Barnhisel of Biloxi, MS; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Fri., Dec. 20, 2013 at the Howard Ave. Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home at 1pm. Friends may visit 1 hour prior.
