Myra Jeannette Moran Parker, 70, of D’Iberville, Mississippi, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in D’Iberville.
Mrs. Parker was born in Biloxi on March 2, 1942. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Affectionately known as “Nutsie”, she was married for 40 years to her high school sweetheart, James Walter “Jimmy” Parker, Jr.. They lived in D’Iberville for 22 years, after which they moved to Slidell, Louisiana, where they lived for 18 years until Jimmy’s death in 2000. Jeannette moved back to D’Iberville in 2001, where she resided until her death.
Survivors include her son, James Walter Parker, III and his wife Rhonda Lee Parker, of Woolmarket; son, Michael Lloyd Parker and his wife Jeanne Coleman Parker of Slidell, Louisiana; daughter, Lynette Michele Parker Burke and her husband Warren William “Bill” Burke of Metairie, Louisiana; daughter, Helen Doris Parker Lively and her husband Gary Shannon Lively, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her sister, Carolyn Moran Quave and her husband, Laz Quave, of St. Martin, and special friend, Mack Samuel Hall, Jr. of D’Iberville. Mrs. Parker was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her grandsons: Kyle Bradley Parker and his wife, Kristi Clewis Parker of Harahan, Louisiana; Brett Elliott Parker of Alabama; Preston Garrett Bivona and Grayson Parker Bivona of Metairie, Louisiana; Blake Kameron Parker, of Slidell, Louisiana; Stephen James Lively of Fort Smith, Arkansas; granddaughter, Paige Ann Lively of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylin Ann Parker of Harahan, Louisiana.
Mrs. Parker was predeceased by her husband, James Walter Parker, Jr.; her parents Noll Phillip Moran and Ola Mae Robinson Moran; her sister Helen Moran Mallet; her sister Elaine Moran Letort.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville, beginning at 9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
