Ms. Nellie Lamas Cobb, age 91, of Biloxi, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Ms. Nellie was born in Mobile and was a longtime resident of Biloxi. She dedicated her life to serving the Catholic Church. She took care of many priest and Catholic Churches in Biloxi and Gulfport. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Cobb; parents, George and Nellie Lamas; daughter, Katherine; brothers, Roy, James, Vincent, and George “Sam”; and sisters, Helen, Mary, Rita and Neelus. Survivors include her sons, Tommy Cobb and Gary Cobb; and brother, Harry (Winnie) Lamas. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Nellie’s caregiver, Jeanette Cuevas and to Pinnacle Hospice for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 2pm. Friends may visit from 1-2pm. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
