Mrs. Neva Yvonne Olier, our loving mother peacefully passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on October 7, 2014 at the age of 82, at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Olier was retired from Harrison County and was employed many years in the seafood industry. She is of the catholic faith, a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a Honorary Member of the North Bay Area Mardi Gras Association. She was a kind, generous and loving woman and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Deonie and Leona Ladner; her husband of fifty-two years, Felix (June) Olier, Jr.; brothers, Ora, Dennis, Hayward, Jimmy and Winfred Ladner; and sisters, Rena Hoda, Velma Ladner, Relia Harriel, Vera Olier and Mildred Curtis Smith. She is survived by two sons, Arnold Joey (Deonne) Olier and Robert Lee (Sarah) Olier; one brother, Howard Ladner; one sister, Betty Ladner; five grandchildren, Christy Lea (Jimmy) Cook, AJ (Amy) Olier, Robert Jr., Tiffany and Brittany Olier; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher and Jeffery Battaya, Isabella and Garrett Olier and Shelby Cook. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Linda Place who has been the best care giver and family friend to mom for the past 8 years. Thank you to, Doctor’s Pavlov, Smith and Shelby of North Bay Family Clinic for their personal care throughout the years and the staff of SAAD Health Care and Hospice, Mrs. Dunning, Ms. Rose Silman, Amanda Cordray, Mrs. Mamie Salter, Chaplain John Landrum and Gloria Jacquet Kostmayer. Also thank you to Sister Kim, Father Bob and Father Michael from Sacred Heart Parish for all your love and support during this journey. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of Sacred Heart, 10446 LeMoyne Blvd, D’Iberville, MS 39540. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 12:00 o’clock at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
