Nicholas Jon Newman of Biloxi, 35, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2014.
Nick was born on September 16, 1978 and was of the Catholic faith. His passion was LSU football, the New Orleans Saints and being a member of the Uncle Wayne’s Biloxi Mardi Gras Krewe. He started his cooking, restaurant manager, and chef career at several local restaurants including the Biloxi Schooner, A&A Food Service on Keesler AFB, The Ole Biloxi Fillin’ Station, Bonefish and Big O’s. He also enjoyed several years working and traveling with the television show Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
Nick left his lasting impression on everyone he met and loved making people happy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Nick was preceded death by his father, Herbert G. “Brother” Newman, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Herbert G. Newman, Sr. and Elnora Desporte Newman; and his maternal grandmother, Ethel Stafford Ivanowski.
Survivors include his mother, Anna L. Newman of Ocean Springs; brother, Herbert G. Newman, III of Biloxi; sister, Sharon Newman Galle and nephew, Jacob Paul Galle of Ocean Springs; his niece and nephew Emily Hope Newman and Herbert G. Newman, IV and their mother, Pamela Lang Newman of Clermont Harbor.
A service celebrating the life of Nick Newman will be held on Monday, January 13, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
