Odie J. Ladner

Odie J. Ladner, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. He was born October 31, 1934 to Eli and Agnes Hansen Ladner in Pass Christian, Miss. On April 3, 1956, he married the love of his life Brenda A. Cuevas. Odie served 4 years in the Air Force. He retired from Port and Harbor in Hancock County as railroad commissioner. Mr. Ladner was proceeded in death by his dearly loved wife of 51 years; a son, Mark A. Ladner; his parents; brothers, Casey, Cecil, and J.T; sisters, Lucile McCullouch and Gola Mae Caine. Survivors include his four children; Odie Wayne Ladner, wife Theresa (McKay) of Necaise Crossing, Deborah Moran, husband Perry Moran of Gulfport, Sandra Kohout, husband Jacob Kohout of Diamondhead, and Byron Ladner of Kiln; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Bryce, Trevor, Cambria, Candice, Gabrielle, Trent, Martha, and Amy and five great grandchildren, Addison, Anna Grace, Alyson, Tratyn, and Aydan. A special thanks to Odie’s son in law, Perry, for his commitment in caring for Dad over the past 10 months. He brought so much joy and peace to Dad during these difficult times. Visitation will be Monday, October 22, 2012 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Apostle Catholic Church, Necaise Crossing Community. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 pm. Odie will be laid to rest at Necaise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, PO Box 919, Kiln, MS, 39556 (228-255-7720).
