Mr. Olen E. Carroll, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Thursday, October 18, 2012.
Mr. Carroll was born in Ocean Springs on July 6, 1935, to Roosevelt and Bessie Carroll. He was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and worked at Barbers Milk Company in Biloxi making house to house deliveries. He also was employed with Parkers Service Station, Billups Service Station and Charter Billups Service Station where he retired.
He will be remembered for his big laugh, never meeting a stranger, telling jokes and talking about the good old times with one another.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas Carroll, Vincent Carroll, Theodore Robert Carroll, Standlish Carroll and James Allen Carroll.
Survivors include his big family, brothers, Rufus Krohn, George Carroll, Wayne Carroll, Tim Carroll and sisters, Helen Johnson, Mary Hudson, Bobbie Smith and Betty McMillan.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012, from 1 pm until 2 pm, with a 2 pm chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Vancleave Church of God Cemetery on Kenneth Cole Rd. in Vancleave.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Ocean Springs Nursing Center, Odessey Hospice and his roommate at the Nursing Center, Jack Lincks.
