Ona Lee Williams

Ona Lee Williams, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Covington, LA. She was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a graduate of St. Martin High School Class of 1957. She worked at the E.R. Moore Company in Ocean Springs, MS; her parent’s business, Page’s Building Supply, in Ocean Springs, MS; and Carriage House Gardens in Ocean Springs, MS which was the business she and her husband started. She and her husband were one of the founding families of Glad Tidings Assemblies of God Church in Ocean Springs, MS. She helped start the food distribution to the needy at Northside Assemblies of God in Biloxi, MS; at different times she served as a youth leader, children’s church leader, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school. She attended Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs, MS and helped grow SonLife young adult ministry in her living room. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jerry Edwin Williams, and her parents, Andy and Louise Page, of Latimer, MS. Survivors include her three children: Darlene (Dale) Chatham of Slidell, LA; Anita (Scott) Lansing of Austin, TX; and Jeremy Williams of Ocean Springs, MS. She has six grandchildren: Brandon (Meagan) Chatham of Lafayette, LA; Chantel Chatham of D’Iberville, MS; and Caleb Lansing, Ona-Lydia Lansing, Moriah Lansing and Nathan Lansing all of Austin, TX. She has seven siblings: Raymond (Dot) Page of Vancleave, MS; Carolyn (Joe) Crawford of Baileyton, AL; Shannon Page of Ocean Springs, MS; Warren (Catherine) Page of Jackson, MS; Ronald Page of Lucedale, MS; Donald (Donna) Page of Latimer, MS; Robert (Lou) Page of Roanoke, AL. Ona Lee Williams was one woman in the hand of God who bore three children, mothered many, had six grandchildren, yet was known as Maw Maw to multitudes. She lived a selfless life that embodied the words of Jesus, “If you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto Me.” She “did” it in a way that not only met peoples’ needs, she made them feel genuinely loved. She was a living example and the one people turned to for prayer. The number “7” represented “completion” in the Holy Bible. Her life came to completion at the age of 77 on September 7th. Surely God smiled on her and said, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Visitation will be on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home Chapel. The service honoring her life will be Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs, MS. Burial service will follow at the Calvin Seymour Memorial Cemetery.
