The world lost the most amazing lady, Pauline Anna Raynes Royal, on Monday, May 27, 2013. Pauline was born on May 6th, 1926, in Washington D.C., to two loving parents, Ralph R. Raynes and Mary Pauline Burns Raynes. She was an only child and seventh generation Washingtonian. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy and was a pianist. In 1947 at a USO dance, Pauline Anna met her future husband, Major Curtis Royal. They married on Guam on March 19, 1949, and honeymooned in Hong Kong. Pauline and Curtis were married 53 wonderful years. Pauline loved traveling the world. With loving help from her husband, Pauline conquered polio. She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Suzanne Royal; and son, Curtis William Royal. A warm-hearted and very loving mother of five children, Marianne Royal Dailey (Gene Dailey) of Newburg, Maryland, Ellen Beth Royal Luquire of Grand Bay, Alabama, and Robert Andrew Royal (Carolyn Abele) of Gautier, Mississippi. She was the beloved grandmother of Sean Michael Ellis of Westminster, Maryland, Amy Alisa Luquire and Cara Lacey Luquire of Grand Bay, Alabama, James Paul Doyle of Spring, Texas, Jennifer Ann Royal and Michael Curtis Royal. Pauline was also the beloved great GiGi of Bradley Curtis Ellis, Payden Fredrick Ellis, and Curtis Allan Luquire. Pauline enjoyed meeting and making friends. She was an avid game player: bridge, card games and puzzles. She could spell any word and was well read and enjoyed a good movie. Her motto was “Be Happy!” Pauline Anna Royal enjoyed dancing though life, and life enjoyed her. God has received the most loving angel. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to be made to The Humane Society of South MS, 2616 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501. 228-863-3354 A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
