Peggy Migues Polovich, 91, of D’iberville, MS, died peacefully in her home on Monday, September 12, 2016. Mrs. Polovich was born in Biloxi in 1925 to Sarah Fowler Migues & Edwin Bernard Migues.
Mrs. Polovich was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. Having lived on Popps Ferry Rd when she was a child, she used to enjoy riding up and down the unpaved road in her horse and buggy. She then moved to east Biloxi with her parents to Crawford Street. Her father, Edwin, opened a poultry market where she was a butcher for a short period of time. She was a graduate of Biloxi High School and in 1944, she married the love of her life, Anthony Victor Polovich, also of Biloxi. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also an owner of Eddie’s Hardware, a staple in Biloxi for many years. She and her oldest daughter Renell loved playing softball together at Crawford St Park. Mrs. Polovich was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Edwin Migues; son, Anthony Victor Polovich, Jr; daughters, Renell Polovich Jones and Patricia Polovich Barlow; and son-in-law, Charles Barlow.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Anthony Polovich; 3 sons, David Polovich, Chris Polovich and Chucky Polovich; son-in-law, Roy Jones, Jr; 5 grandchildren, Scott Jones (DiAnne), Billy Jones, Rusty Barlow, Shelley Knox (Bill) and Dustin Polovich; 5 great-grandchildren, Greg Jones, Satchel Barlow, Spencer Barlow, Jackson Knox and Lily Knox.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
