Philip Jacob Mender

Philip Mender, 82, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Philip Mender was born in New Orleans, LA. He retired from the Air Force and went on to serve as a librarian at Popp’s Ferry Elementary School where he fulfilled a passion to work with young people and pass on his love of books and reading. He was a loving dad and wonderful person who will be deeply missed. Mr. Mender is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Edna Mender; daughter Stephanie Mender; and grand daughter, Nicole Davis. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Springs; sons, Philip and Michael Mender; grandsons, Patrick and Andrew Davis; and granddaughters, Faith and Melody Springs. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2012, at The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with funeral services held on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
