Ralph H. Ladner

Ralph H. Ladner, age 77, of Pass Christian, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Moss Point. He was born in the Dedeaux Community and was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and was a retired contractor. Mr. Ladner previously served his country, first in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, then as a U.S. Navy SeaBee. While in the Seabees, Chief Petty Officer Ladner was sent to Vietnam to build barracks and runways. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and DAV. He enjoyed life whether throwing his net at the Pass Harbor or dancing to the sound of a good live band. He never met a stranger and often stopped what he was doing to help someone in need or just to lend an ear. He is survived by two sons, Justin Allen and his wife Darlene and their children, Nathan and Evelyn and his other son, John Ladner and his wife Mara and their children, Richard and Samantha all of Pass Christian; a sister, Beatrice Shaw of Lizana; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service is Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou in Hancock Co. with military honors.
