Raymond "Ray" Woodrow Marks

Mr. Raymond Woodrow Marks, age 76, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Ocean Springs. Ray was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. He was a Retired USAF MSgt and retired from civil service as an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base. He married the love of his life, Lois E. Rayborn, in East Gary, Indiana, on August 20, 1961, and moved her to Keesler after nine days of marriage. They were married over 52 years. He was a handy man that never met a stranger or task he could not accomplish and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Marks and Blanche Nall Marks and a brother, Jimmie Marks. Survivors include his wife, Lois, two daughters, Merilee Kaye (Jeffrey) Mortenson and Glenda Faye (Patrick) Fleming, son, Michael Ray (Melissa) Marks, sisters, Lou (Charles) Hoffman and Mary Shows, and seven grandchildren, Patrick Mortenson, Benjamin Mortenson, Andrea Marks, Kendra Marks, Cory Marks, Alicia Marks and Zachary Marks. Visitation will be on Friday, May 23, 2014, from 5pm until 7pm, with a 7pm Chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will be on Saturday, May 24 at 9am in Biloxi National Cemetery.
