Richard Arthur Barnett

Richard Arthur Barnett, 75, of Gulfport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2013 surrounded by his close family. Richard was born in Gulfport on November 19, 1937. He graduated from Gulfport High School and continued his education in Business at Baylor University in Waco, TX. Richard worked as the owner and operator of Barnett's Floor Service for more than 40 Years. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Christine Barnett; and sister, Dorothy Kersey. He is survived by his two children, Alyson Barnett Stewart and her husband Michael, and Kim Herrmann; his three grandchildren, Elisabeth, Meghann, and Brooke; his four great grandchildren, Katelynn, William, Zachary and Jenna; his sister, Mary Hyde and her husband Dan; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St., in Gulfport. The funeral service will be Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
