Robert "Bob" Derigo

Robert Earl Derigo, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was born on August 19, 1936 in Decatur, Illinois. Robert retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant after 25 years of service and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He met his beautiful wife, Thanh Nguyen, in Vietnam and they have been married for 42 years. Robert is survived by his wife Thanh Nguyen Derigo, his six sons, Thanh Lam, Liem Lam, Lee Derigo, Lum Derigo, Joseph Derigo, and Jerry Derigo as well as his only daughter Kathleen Derigo Hartmann. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Huy, Jennie, Michael, Lena, Taylor, Trevor, Alaina, Emily and one great grandchild, Caleb. Family members gathered privately to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life. He will be remembered for his humility, big heart, and gentlemanly nature. He will also be remembered as a loving husband, father and "Paw Paw". The love he showed his family will be missed and cherished forever.
