Robert Kulver, Ph.D., 53, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi died Saturday, November 29, 2014.
He was born to the late Sven and Eha Elise Kulver, June 3, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY. Upon graduating from White Bear Lake Senior High School, Robert (Bob) continued his education at the University of Minnesota where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Bio-Chemistry. He then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned his Master’s in Physics and Ph.D. in Chemistry.
Dr. Robert Kulver was a learned man whose passion for science and research lead his career on a journey which began at Argonne National Laboratories. His talent and desire for learning propelled him on a path that included Abbott Laboratories, AEA Integration, and Fujitsu America. Bob was driven by his continued dedication to research, development and educating both himself and those around him. He found great pleasure in sharing his expertise and knowledge with his students while a professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha & Columbia University.
In the spring of 2014 Bob relocated to Ocean Springs, Mississippi for his “dream job” working for General Dynamics as a Computational Physicist at John C. Stennis Space Center.
In addition to his love of science he was also a huge sports fanatic, musician, painter, and kayak enthusiast. Over the past several years he had developed his musical talents and found great joy in composing music under his pseudonym, Todderick Biffidus. His love for creating unique and thought provoking ideas extended to his art as well. These sounds and images will forever be treasured. Bob also found great comfort in the simple silence that came from communing with nature while “yakking”.
Bob is remembered by his enamored wife and partner of 21 years, Karen "Pooh", Sister Laura Vigliotti “Sis”, niece Brianna Vigliotti “Gniece” and nephew Jacob Vigliotti “Gnephew”, half siblings Aado Perandi and Helbe Perandi Korth. His family included: Brant & Elizabeth Hromadka (Brandon Rossiter, Aubrie and Cameron Hromadka), LaNora Lazzara-Anderson “Lynwa” (Niko Lazzara "Nikonoga" and Gavin Anderson "Gavel"), Deadra Anthony “Ddddd” (Nicholas "Nickelopolis" and Emma), Michael & Kerie “Tweety-Pants” Whitaker (Danielle Taylor, Randi and Thomas “Squeegee Trollmaster to the Nth” Whitaker).
Everyone knew Bob had a certain way of looking at life, and always had something to say that would open your mind to exploration and sometimes utter confusion. His unique and entertaining ways will forever be missed and offer great stories that will be shared for years to come.
