Robert “Bobby” Tubre, 87, of Biloxi, MS died Friday, March 23, 2012 in Biloxi.
Mr. Tubre was born in New Orleans and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served in World War II in the Naval Armed Guard. Before the war, he was a diesel mechanic for Baltar. He was a car salesman at Dees Chevrolet for 25 years and later sold life insurance for Jerry O'Keefe and Mutual Savings and Life. He was a boat racer and a shrimper. He was a member and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Biloxi. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Tubre, Jr.; his parents, William and Alice Tubre; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Novaline Tubre; daughters, Novaline (Billy) Dodson and Karen (Travis) Hanson both of Biloxi and Margie (Jimmy) May of Gulfport; daughter-in-law, Sissie Tubre of Woolmarket; seven sisters; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tubre's family would like to extend their appreciation to the Biloxi VA Hospice staff.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a 12:00 pm service all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
