Rodney C. Ferguson

Mr. Rodney C. Ferguson, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS died Monday, March 24, 2014, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Ferguson was a lifelong resident of the coast. He retired from the National Guard after 38 years, from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 35 years and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Conard J. and Willmetti Seymour Ferguson, a brother, Carlton Ferguson and a brother-in-law, Bob Davis. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lois King Ferguson, two daughters, Kathleen (Buck) Buckheister and Tanya (Timothy) Cates, sister, Elzie Davis, two brothers, Lanny D. (Nita) Ferguson and Conard E. (Barbara) Ferguson, sister-in-law, Reba Ferguson, two granddaughters, Megan (Edwin) Hawkins and Nancy Buckheister and two great-granddaughters, Madelyn Hawkins and Shelby Hawkins. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 5pm until 8pm, with a 7pm Rosary, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Thursday, March 27, there will be a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where friends may visit from 9am until Mass time. Burial will follow in Bosarge Cemetery in St. Martin. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
