Rodney Mark Fields, 67, of Saucier passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Gulfport.
Rod was born in Enid, Oklahoma on September 6, 1947 to Beverly "Ben" Fields and Hulda Reimer Fields. He moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1954 as a child. Rod attended Air Academy High School, graduating in 1965. Rod joined the U.S. Air Force in 1967 and, after 22 years of service, retired as a Sr. Master Sergeant in 1989. Rod enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing golf with his longtime friends around the gulf coast. He was a wonderful father and will be dearly missed.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Fields; a brother, Timothy Fields and wife Anita of Castle Rock, CO; daughters, Jennifer Fields and Megan Fields of Ocean Springs; step-daughters, Piper Premeaux of Saucier and Natalie Nelson of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Chelsea Fields and Justice Gonzalez of Ocean Springs, Cameron Quigley of Lake Placid, FL, Sam Nelson and Jack Gillett of Colorado Springs, CO; great-granddaughter, Alexandria Cook of Ocean Springs; and many dear friends he made throughout his Air Force career.
A memorial service will be Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
