Ronald Ray Bird

Ronald Ray Bird (Honest Ron) was called up by our Lord on Saturday, June 30th, 2012. Ronald was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He was born January 18, 1946 in Biloxi and attended D'Iberville High School where he graduated Salutatorium in 1964. Ronald married the love of his life on July 25th 1969. Ronald was a Welder/Pipefitter for the local union number 619. After many years of hard work he retired to enjoy time with his wife and the other loves of his life, his children, grandchildren, and his Isuzu trucks! He was preceded in death by his Father, Mr. Paul Clinton Bird. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanette Gavin Bird. His mother, Mrs. Lois Bird. His two brothers, Paul (Sherry) Bird and Jimmy (Judy) Bird. His three sisters, Amelda (Blaine) Krohn, Margie Bird, and Linda (Skip) Girten. His three children, Laura (Carl) Peebles, John (Shelia) Bird, and Amanda (Mike) Dubaz. His five grandchildren, Adalina Bird, Emily Peebles, Anna Bird, Connor Dubaz, and Blythe Dubaz. "Honest Ron" never met a person that didn't call him a friend. He would do anything for you. As the scripture says, "He will cover you with his feathers and under His wings you will find refuge" Psalm 91:4. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, father, pawpaw and friend to all and we will miss him dearly! Visitation is Monday, July 2, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral services will be Tuesday in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
