Ronald J. “Ronnie” Seymour, 57, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in Mobile.
Ronnie was born in Biloxi. He was a graduate of Ocean Springs High School and attended the University of Southern MS. Ronnie was retired from CSX Railroad as a Bridge Inspector and his love of Special Olympics led him to become a Director of Area 12 and also a volunteer with the Keesler Special Olympics. His interests included all things LSU, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Mardi Gras, Caribbean Cruises and listening to his vast collection of music. Ronnie never missed an episode of Saturday Night Live.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia Seymour, Sr.; and his brother, Johnny Seymour, Jr.
Ronnie’s survivors include his sisters, Kay Bruening, Pamela Cox, Sheila Seymour and Becky (Nick) Gatian; his brother, Randy Seymour; his nieces, Keri Green, Angie Batia, Tina Weaver, Kristy Rogers, Leslie Kelley, Mandy Frazier, Yvette Lawler, Elaina Thompson and Alyssa Acevedo; his nephew, Dr. Eric Seymour; numerous great nieces and nephews; and former wife and close friend, Sherry Garrett.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Area 12 Special Olympics, 15 Olympic Way, Madison, MS 39110.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at Bellande Cemetery.
