Rose Mary Barrale, age 99, of Long Beach died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Pearl, MS.
She was born in Bay St. Louis and was a lifelong resident of Long Beach until losing her home in Hurricane Katrina when she moved to Pearl.
She was a devoted member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach and of St. Margaret’s Daughters serving as treasurer for over forty years.
She was a private caretaker and companion until employed at Keesler AFB, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Long Beach Carnival Association and the VFW Auxiliary receiving life time membership for her dedication. She was the recipient of the VA Volunteer Award serving the Biloxi VA Hospital with over 5,000 volunteer hours and was a past recipient of WLOX Star Award for her countless volunteer hours to church and civic organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andreas and Rose Barrale; four brothers, Lawrence (Bessie), Nick, Louis, Sr. (Ethel), and Joe (Ludgie); two sisters, Nora Barrale,
Ann (Seaburn) Gerald; and a nephew and Godson, Robert Allcock, II.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and other close family members.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport with the Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach where friends may visit beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
