Russell "Butch" Butcher, 81, of Biloxi, died Friday, March 23, 2012.
Mr. Butcher was a resident of the Gulf Coast for 33 years. He retired as a USAF CMSgt and was an active member and elder at Rodenberg Church of Christ. Mr. Butcher attended William Carey College, was an avid reader, fisherman, and a true Bible Scholar. He will be remembered as a shepherd for many who was loved and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Audrey Butcher; and his son Timothy Butcher.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary "Margie" Butcher; one daughter, Jennifer (Darren) Crowden of York, PA; two sons, Phillip (Latreese) Butcher of Biloxi, MS and Daniel (Teddie) Butcher of Birmingham, AL; and eleven grandchildren, Audrey (Bobby) Leeper, Cory Butcher, Ashley Butcher, Shelby Butcher, Emily (Keith ) Anderson, Zachary Butcher, Isaac Butcher, Anna Butcher, Melisa (Don) Litrell, Chelsea Butcher, Sarah Butcher and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service, all at Rodenberg Church of Christ, 173 Rodenberg Ave., Biloxi, MS. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family perfers donations to be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, 410 Allied Dr., Nashville, TN 37211.
