Ruth Mary Cotter, 88, died April 20, 2013, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Cotter was born July 23, 1924, in Seattle, Washington. She was the daughter of Salomon "Sam" Fauconnier of Belgium and Emma Kristine Nielsen Fauconnier of Norway. She and her family moved to Biloxi in 1964.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lt. Col. James D. Cotter, and three brothers, Elden, Henry and Palmer Fauconnier.
Mrs. Cotter is survived by her three children, Daniel B. Cotter of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathleen P. Jones of Biloxi and Dr. Mark C. Cotter of Reidsville, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Alison C. Baron of Johnstown, Colo., Charlotte K. Cotter of Fort Collins, Colo., Aaron L. Jones, Haley D. Jones and Lindsey L. Jones of Biloxi; Jordan C. Cotter, Olivia D. Cotter and Chris J. Cotter of Reidsville, N.C.; and two great-grandsons, Blake B. Baron and Mason A. Jones.
A special note of gratitude is made to caregivers Karen Newell, Hazel Lee, Jackie Pitalo and Denise Moore.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
