Sadie Jewel Morris

Sadie Jewel Morris, age 87, passed away March 15, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. She was a lifelong resident of the coast, a defiant defender of her family, a faithful Christian and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Saucier. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eileen M. Shannon of Macon, Georgia and her son, Jack H. Morris, II of Saucier and her grandson, Ryan L. Christopherson of Gulfport. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack H. Morris of Saucier. She is also survived by five children, Sandra M. Steele of Perkinston, Donovan T. Murphy (Ann) of Bonifay, Florida, Jan M. Patton (Hunter) of Gulfport, A. Jay Morris and Jackie N. Morris both of Saucier; and four grandchildren, Channing Steele of Atlanta, Georgia, Pamela R. Shannon of Macon, Georgia, Donovan J. Murphy of Bonifay, Florida and Brantley Copeland of Saucier. Out of nine siblings, she is survived by one sister, Bethal M. Greer of Saucier. Mama loved spring-time and looked forward each year to working in her yard, planting roses and watching them grow. She is now in Heaven where the Son is always bright and warm, and the roses are eternal. The family wishes to extend humble thanks for all the support and prayers. She passed quickly and serenely with her children by her side. We are extremely grateful to the staff of Memorial Hospital for their unwavering commitment to quality care. They made this journey so much more bearable for all of us. Thank you. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit one hour before service time.
