Sandra Clark

Sandra Sharp Clark passed away on April 17, 2012 in Pass Christian, MS, after a battle with lung cancer. She was 76 years old. She was preceded in death by her husbands Captain John Walter Clark and Paul Frederic Jahncke, III. The mother of Kirsten Jahncke Acomb (Dwight) of New Orleans and Heidi Jahncke Qualey (Joe) of Charleston, SC. The loving grandmother of Louise Acomb Smallpage (Jack), Margaret Acomb, Kathleen Acomb, Caroline Acomb, Kevin Qualey and Paul Qualey and stepmother to Susan Wells and Ruth Day. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fulton Sharp, MD and Florence Durand Sharp; and sister, Judith Sharp Cobb (JB). She is also survived by her brother, Robert Fulton Sharp, Jr, MD (Susan) and sister, Kathleen Sharp Theriot (Don), numerous nieces, nephews and many friends both in New Orleans and Pass Christian. She graduated from Metairie Park Country Day School, attended Goucher College, Baltimore, and graduated from Newcomb College where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Pass Christian Yacht Club, Four Seasons Garden Club, The Fortnightly Book Club, a sustaining member of the Junior League of New Orleans and a former member of the Orleans Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Boulevard, Long Beach, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sandra’s name to the Louise S. McGehee School Endowment Fund, 2343 Prytania Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.
