Sandra Faye Cropp Litzinger, 71 died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at The Magnolias in Columbus, MS after a battle with breast cancer.
Sandra was a bank teller for quite a few years in her early career and became a stay-at-home mom after her daughter LeeAnn was born. She moved to Long Beach, MS in 1983, where she and her husband owned Southern Manor Interiors Upholstery for several years. Sandra then worked as Financial Secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, MS for over 25 years before retiring in 2011. She was highly involved in the life and ministry of First Presbyterian Church, especially in the Women in the Church ministry. Sandra’s interest included Bible study, reading, doing puzzles, sewing, family ancestry research and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Arden Litzinger; and her parents, Roger Cropp and Annabell Yaugher Cropp.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, LeeAnn (Johnny Chiu) Joe; her granddaughter, Autumn Marie Joe; sister, Ruth Ann Cropp Howell; and brothers, Alan (Rose) Cropp and Dennis (Tia) Cropp.
A visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Gulfport from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Guy Richard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made in her name to First Presbyterian Church, Gulfport Library Fund, 10885 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS 39503 or Grace Presbytery Women in the Church, 2329 Park Place Dr., Gulfport, MS 39507.
