Sarah Merle Newsom

Sarah Duncan Newsom, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 in Ocean Springs. She was born in Kosciusko, MS on December 23, 1936 and was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. She retired from Gautier Public Schools as a teacher. She is preceded in death by her son, Charles A. Newsom; and parents, Lavelle and Louis Duncan. She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Newsom, Jr; sons, Jason (Susan) C. Newsom and Scott Newsom; sisters, Cheryl Grubbs and Mary McCool; and brothers, Edward Duncan and Dennis Duncan. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Independent Methodist Church Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
