Stanford Denham “Buddy” Bethea, age, 63 of Gulfport, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Gulfport. He was born in Hattiesburg and was a longtime resident of Gulfport. He was a 1967 graduate of Gulfport East High School where he served as a Commodore Mascot for two years.
He was a graduate of Delta State University where he received a BS Degree in Business and was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, boat racing, drag racing, and NASCAR.
Mr. Bethea was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Ernest Bethea, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. George B. Denham; and his father, Mr. Stanford Ernest Bethea, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Alisa McCormick Bethea; mother, Mrs. Anne Denham Bethea; children, Skylar (Gerald ) Davis, Tyler and Beaux Bethea, all of Gulfport; grandchildren, Aniyah and Jayden Davis; a brother, George (Sandy) Bethea; his beloved dog, Bailey Mae; and numerous loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
