MSgt Stephen N. Barnes, USAF, Ret., 62, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
He was a resident of the Gulf Coast for the last 29 years. He was a passionate lover of music. Stephen was a “Harley Man” who loved his motorcycles. A Vietnam veteran, he retired from the United States Air Force as a medic who aided in several humanitarian evacuations. Stephen was an avid reader who followed his Ohio State Buckeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sally Barnes; and sister, Sandy Radford.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 30 years, Edna Barnes; three sons, Christopher Barnes of Lexington, KY, Michael Barnes of Hattiesburg, MS and Matthew Barnes of Charleston, SC; grandchild, Erin Barnes of Grayslake, IL; and brothers, Scott Adkins and Stewart Adkins both of Hampton, VA.
Known as “the coolest dad ever” by his three sons. A loving husband and father who will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Thursday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
