Steve Gerald "Coach" Kovacevich

Gerald “Coach” Kovacevich, 79, of Ocean Springs, died Saturday, April 21, 2012. Mr. Kovacevich was born on May 20, 1932 in Biloxi to the late Frank and Katie Kovacevich. He retired from Chevron Refinery after 25 plus years of service. He was an active member of the Slavic Benevolent Association for 62 years, and was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katie Kovacevich, and brother, Paul Kovacevich. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kovacevich; daughter, Jeanna Kovacevich-Blackman and her husband Brad; son, Steve Kovacevich, and two grandchildren, Cooper and Carter Blackman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs with interment following in Crestlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit one hour prior to service time at the church. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
