Steve John Zorich

Steve John Zorich, Sr. went home to be with Jesus in the presence of his family on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Lena Kuluz Zorich; brothers, Matthew (Motto) Talianicich, and Greg Talianicich; sisters, Eva Mazara and Mary Thian; brother-in-law, Steve Thian; and great-grandson, Cameron Parker. He was survived by the love of his life of 61 ½ years, Beverly Zorich; sister-in-law, Juanita Talianicich; children, Rev. Stephanie (Jack) Cox of Evergreen, AL, Rev. Steve J. (Daphne) Zorich, Jr. of Tyler, TX, Joy (George) McAllister of Ocean Springs, MS, John (Brenda) Zorich and Michael (Ellen) Zorich of Biloxi, MS; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Steve served in the U.S. Army, 4th Armored Division during the Korean War. He was stationed at Fort Hood & Fort Bliss, TX. He was a member of the Slavic Benevolent Association of St. Nikolai, Mississippi Federal Benefit Association & Society and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He worked as a Postal Clerk at K.A.F.B. during WWII, as a nursing assistant for 10 years at the Biloxi V.A. Hospital and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Biloxi, MS in 1985. Steve was loved by all who knew him and will be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Pavlov, his nurse Twy and the entire staff of North Bay Family Medical; Dr. William O. Passarelli III; “His Girls” at the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, Jane, Lisa and Breanna; and the loving care of the M.I.C.U unit at Ocean Springs Hospital; and an extra special thank you to Sister Mary Riordan for her devotion and care through the years for our family. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to The American Heart Association, a cancer charity of your choice or the St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
