Susan "Leanne" Thomas Marasca

Susan Leanne (Thomas) Marasca, 52, of Lucedale, MS, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in Lucedale, MS. Leanne was born in Biloxi, MS at Keesler AFB to Lee Thomas, Sr. and Wanda (Miller) Denham on March 16, 1962. She went to high school at Ocean Springs High School and graduated in 1980. Leanne attended college at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at the Perkinston Campus. She was employed for over 30 years in Marine Design and Engineering at various locations to include Ingalls Shipbuilding and Trinity Offshore/Yachts. Leanne was an accomplished artist, avid hunter, self-taught veterinarian and Bass Master Angler winning several tournaments. She enjoyed pigeon racing, raising pit bulls and lived on a farm with horses and other livestock. Leanne is preceded in death by her father, Lee Thomas, Sr. Leanne is survived by her children, Sgt Daniel Watts, USMC in Cincinnati, Ohio and Erik Doehring of Norfolk, VA; her mother, Wanda Denham and step-father, Mike Denham of Ocean Springs, MS; her brother, Lee Thomas, II and his wife, Beth and their children, Lee Thomas III, Ashley Thomas, Kristen Thomas, Katie Thomas, and Ann Marie Thomas of Knoxville, TN; her sister, Patricia Thomas of Accokeek, MD; her brother, Nicholas Thomas, Sr. and his wife, Christie and their children, Nicholas Thomas, Jr. and his wife Chelsea, Sara Thomas and Sophia Thomas of Ocean Springs, MS; her sister, Bernadette Gast and her husband, Joseph and their children, Corey Impey, Christian Impey and Ciera-Lyn Gast of Lynn Haven, FL; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, mostly from Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Friends may visit from 5:00 pm until service time.
