Sybilee “Lee” Romines Boney, 83, died peacefully at home in Ocean Springs, on the evening of October 26, 2012, surrounded by her family. Lee was born in Platka, Florida on May 8, 1929 to Ora and Charles Ruben Romines. She grew up in north Texas and graduated from Seymour High School. Lee received her degree in nursing from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Vicksburg, MS in 1951 and she married Earnest Julius Boney of Biloxi in 1952. Lee worked for many years as a nurse at Ocean Springs Hospital and Biloxi Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1997.
Lee is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earnest, five daughters, Diana Lovejoy, Sue (Cris Medley) Boney, Claire (David, Jr.) Arbogast, Alesia (David) Hamm, Missy Ramon and four sons, John (Frances McNab) Boney, Joe (Nancy Kirkland) Boney, Matthew (Donna Favre) Boney and Michael (Rebecca Barnes) Boney, sister, Faye Blanscet, bothers, JC Romines and Tommy Romines, 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her son, Rene Boney, and son-in-law, Lyle Ramon, Sr., and brothers, Oren, Noel, Joe, Doyle and Junior Romines.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Ave. in Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Biloxi; friends may visit for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi. The family prefers memorials to the St. Vincent De Paul Pharmacy at 715 Division St., Biloxi, MS, 39530.
