Mr. Thomas A. Galle Sr., age 88, of Ocean Springs, MS, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at his home in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Galle was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both in Ocean Springs. He was a retired commercial fisherman and was one of the three original men hired as an Ocean Springs Policeman when the department was formed in 1953 until 1970. He loved playing and singing country music.
Mr. Galle was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Doris Beaugez Galle.
Survivors include two daughters, Cora (Ed) Barton and Deborah Redmond, three sons, J.B. (Debbie) Galle, Tommy (Esther) Galle and James (Jenny) Galle, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 11, from 6pm until 8pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, October 12, Mr. Galle will lie in state from 10am to 11am, with an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Bellande Cemetery.
