Thomas R. (Tommy Ray) Havens, age 65, of Vancleave, MS passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in Ocean Springs, MS.
Mr. Havens was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. L. E. (Gene) Havens, Jr. and Fannie Lott Havens.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ellen Havens; a brother, L.E. (Gene) Havens, III of Ocean Springs and a sister, Cheryl Havens Knitter of Vancleave; three nieces, Cathy Kurtz D’Amico of Haughton, LA, Gina Knitter of Vancleave, and Jedaiah Burt of Vancleave; two nephews, Eric Kurtz of Choctaw, OK and Stacy Rayner of Nashville, TN.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am until Noon on Saturday, August 18th at Bonnie Chapel United Methodist Church. A Noon service will follow with burial at the George Byrd Cemetery.
The family requests that any donations be made to the Bonnie Chapel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Additionally, the family would like to extend thanks to all the staff at Ocean Springs Hospital for the care and kindness given to Mr. Havens and his family.
Tommy Ray will always be remembered by those that knew him for his generosity, patience and kindness, his humble wisdom, and his ingenuity and courage to overcome life’s challenges.
