Thomas "Tony" Homsany

Thomas "Tony" Homsany, age 89, passed away Friday, January 19th, 2018 in Biloxi, MS. He was a devoted husband and father and a devout Catholic. He was loved by his family and everyone who knew him. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored him, thought he was “The silliest one of all.” Tony was retired military with 34 years of active and reserve duty. He served in the United States Army and Air Force, with tours of duty in Korea and the Philippines. He retired after serving 25 years with the United States government as a Civil Service Administrative Technician and later as an Aircraft Dispatcher. After retirement, Tony, and his beloved wife, Grace, moved to Ocean Springs, MS from Miami, FL in 1992. After two years of retirement, being bored, he decided to try working at Wal-Mart in Ocean Springs for a couple of months, and ended up being employed there for 18 years. Tony was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 25 years, serving two years as 3rd Degree Grand Knight, and two years as Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree with various officer positions in between. He is preceded in death by his wife, Grace, with whom he spent 55 wonderful years; his parents, Elias and Selma Homsany; five brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his step-sons, Robert B. Manley (Sue) of Ocean Springs, MS and John A. Manley of Sebastian, FL; grandchildren, Robert, David (Katerina) and Michelle Manley, and Kathryn Garrett (Stephen), Denese Manley, Karoline Sanchez (Federico); and great-grandchildren, Dorothy and Luc Bloodworth, Hazel and Charles Garrett, Sofie, Sara and Emily Manley, Brett Zandlo and Jose, Jaqueline, Juan and Jair Sanchez. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Tony Homsany to the Knights of Columbus Seminarian Fund at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 4900 Riley Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
